Stephen L. Altman was born in St. Louis, Mo, 1952.  He was admitted to the Virginia bar in 1977, the District of Columbia bar in 1978, and Illinois in 1979.  Mr. Altman received his B.A. in 1974 from The Ohio State University and his J.D. in 1977 from International School of Law.  He is a member of the following bars: Virginia State Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, and The District of Columbia Bar Association.  Mr. Altman, a Member, specializes in the defense of individual health care providers, hospitals and other health care organizations in medical and dental malpractice actions in Virginia and the District of Columbia.  Mr. Altman also specializes in the representation of health care providers before state licensing authorities in disciplinary actions.  Mr. Altman is a frequent lecturer to medical, legal and insurance organizations on professional liability matters.
