Federal and State Civil Trial Practice - The Firm represents corporate and individual clients in state and federal courts throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia. Appellate Practice - The Firm has been very successful in handling appeals in the appellate courts of the three jurisdictions, including all state and federal courts.

General Corporate and Business Law - including business and corporate matters, commercial litigation and dispute resolution. The Firm represents businesses in a variety of matters, from the structuring of the form of organization to the drafting of contracts and agreements to solving problems and disputes through arbitration and mediation. The Firm's philosophy is to try and find solutions short of litigating matters in court, but when cases cannot be resolved without resorting to litigation, we pride ourselves on our trial experience and case preparation.

Taxation - The Firm can advise you on personal and business tax planning and help you structure transactions, estate planning, or business organization to minimize taxes and avoid tax problems.  The Firm can represent you if you are audited or investigated by the IRS or other taxing authorities.

Estate Planning and Probate - The Firm provides comprehensive legal services in estate planning and the administration of estates and trusts, including acting as personal representative. Our lawyers combine their advanced education and specialized experience in taxation, property and fiduciary law to develop and implement estate plans to achieve our clients’ goals regarding the preservation, protection and distribution of property, the minimization of exposure to creditors’ claims, and the minimization of estate and income tax liability. Our estate planning services are targeted to a sophisticated clientele with diverse estate planning needs. As a part of our estate planning practice, we counsel our clients on the delegation of health and financial decision-making authority and the direction of future medical treatment.  We also assist our clients with all aspects of estate and trust administration, including probate, trust management, fiduciary duties and liabilities, estate tax and fiduciary income tax return planning and preparation, and tax controversy work.

Trust Law - The Firm represents clients with Living Trusts, Revocable or Irrevocable Trusts.

Medical Malpractice - Our Firm handles a variety of medical malpractice cases in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  We represent defendants in cases involving medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, wrongful death/survival actions and other cases resulting in serious medical injuries. On behalf of patients, we do initial consultations, review medical records, and investigate potential claims including expert reviews and retention involving a variety of medical specialties.  Our attorneys represent patients in pre-suit negotiations, mediation, arbitration, and trial.  In addition, in the absence of conflicts, our attorneys have defended numerous medical malpractice cases on behalf of physicians, nurses, CRNAs, other health care providers, and hospitals at administrative and disciplinary hearings, in pre-suit negotiations, in mediations, in claims arbitration, and at trial. 

Insurance Coverage - The Firm assist our insurance clients with coverage issues such as an insured's failure to cooperate, an insured's failure to give notice of a loss, the existence of a duty to defend and/or indemnify, priority of coverages in various contexts, and resolution of complex coverage issues through declaratory judgment actions, mediation, and/or arbitration. 

Commercial - Our commercial disputes litigators focus on contract and commercial disputes, business torts, unfair business practices and other business litigation. Our commercial disputes trial team is recognized for its ability to successfully try cases involving a wide variety of legal issues.  Our lawyers handle many cases involving allegations of improper conduct in business transactions, including fraud, negligent misrepresentation, interferences with contractual or economic relations, and bad faith and unfair dealing. We have a successful track record of representing clients in cases involving claims under special statutes such as federal and state laws, consumer protection laws, and laws relating to unfair trade practices.

Contract - Our lawyers handle business disputes involving commercial contracts in a wide range of areas such as the purchase and sale of businesses, utility contracts, contracts for the sale or development of intellectual property, construction contracts, and partnership disputes. We are experienced in litigating all types of cases under the Uniform Commercial Code, including contracts for the sale of goods, security interests, loan transactions, banking, procedures and investment.

Employment - The Firm represents employers in discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment and other matters involving the employment relationship.

Environmental & Toxic Tort Litigation - The environmental litigators assist clients with virtually every type of lawsuit involving environmental issues in federal and state courts.
